Tools make life easier. When it comes to meal prep and cooking, most people dread it because of how difficult it can be and how long it takes. I have personally tried to make my meal prepping as efficient as possible. Below I am sharing all the tools I use to make this process a fast and painless as possible.
Shopping Tools
1. Grocery bags – Are so much better for the environment with the added bonus of being sturdy! No more ripped plastic or paper bags for grocery store trips.

3. Chef’s knife – Upgrading your set of knives is an investment but when you cook weekly if not daily, it’s well worth it. We are a Shun family but there are many quality knives out there you can get these days. This is the knife I personally use every day. It’s super sharp, high quality, and always sturdy (never flimsy).
4. Air fryer – what did I ever do without this tool!? I love this for potatoes, sweet potatoes, veggies, and it works like a charm to reheat food. A must for meal prep!
6. Metal spatula – great for cooking meat in the cast iron
Or… Carbon steel pan (cast iron’s lighter cousin)
8. Sheet Pans
9. Instant pot – You can cook literally anything in this time machine. We love it for soups, stews, broth, shredded chicken, large batch rice, lentils, beans, and more.
10. Rice cooker – How cute is this rice cooker! My rice cooker is so convenient, I use it every week, set it and forget it, an hour later you have rice!
11. Grill – I have this exact grill and LOVE it. It has a built in scale that reads how low your propane levels are so you never have that “oh crap” moment when you go to cook your food and the tank is empty.
12. Instant read thermometer – Gone are the days of poking meat, cutting into meat (therefore losing juices and drying out), or doing the press test to see if it’s cooked through. You must ensure you are cooking your protein to safe internal temperatures. Cooking protein has never been the same since my husband educated me on the benefits of checking temperatures of the thickest part of meat.
13. Black pepper mill – I have this exact mill, it works so well. I know it’s on the pricey side but, when I use it every day, multiple times a day, I need something that works consistently and this guy gets the job done – well.

16. Bees wax covers – Going green over here! These environmentally safe reusable covers replace pesky plastic wrap and are wildly convenient.
