High Impact Sports Bra
For the ladies with the tatas, you know this is a non-negotiable. I’ve never said in my life, “Oh I forgot a bra, no big deal.” Nope. That is not the life I live, I have to wrangle these babies in. I have large breasts and they need a bra that will hold them in without crushing them into a “uni-boob.”
When I learned about the Brooks Juno, my life was forever changed. No longer were the days of wearing two sports bras and still feeling the “bounce” of every step I took. This bra has strap adjustments for your shoulders, is somehow is able to keep the ladies separate to create a fairly natural look, all the while holding them down during even in the most jumping of circumstances.
Fitted Long Sleeve Zip-up
I’m a fan of layers. If you’ve ever worked out in the morning, it can be a bit chilly. I just hate being cold and so when I get up and at it, I’ve got to have my layers. Once I get to the gym and start to warm up, I can easily slip off my zip-up. But sometimes, it’s too cold and I’m able to perform my workout with this convenient piece of clothing.
Yoga Mat
I wouldn’t be a yogi without my yoga mat. I have a couple actually… My Manduka and Lululemon mats are used for different purposes. Manduka is my home mat, Lulu is my hot yoga class mat. They are both amazing mats and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a quality mat.
Yoga Wheel
My latest obsession! This new toy has helped me with my inversion practice. With the wheel upright against a wall, I place my head on the wheel with my hands on the ground and work on handstand holds and press-ups. Press-ups are my unicorn move that I intend to get one day. I’m excited to see how this balance-aid can help me in those efforts.
Yoga Blocks
As an avid yogi, my blocks give me support or arm length for poses that are challenging or that I just need a little extra support for. My favorite way to use blocks are for restorative poses, such as, supported bridge or legs up the wall.
Nalgene Bottle
My nalgene bottle has been referred to as my “third arm.” I use this all day, every day. It goes with me to the gym, to work, around the house, on errands, whenever I travel, literally everywhere. I bought my nalgene a long time ago and decided to personalize it to give it some nostalgia. Anytime I travel, I buy a sticker if I can find one.
Brooks Running Shoes
Every runner knows a quality shoe is important. The wrong shoe will can give you blisters, poor arch support, or worse, mess up your gait. I love my Brooks Ghost 11 running shoes. These have great traction and support for uneven surfaces, grass, or even a hike.
Lululemon Train Times Pant
Nothing is worse than buying those oh so cute leggings only to find, once you start working out they fall down. Like really? WTF you had one job. Once you’ve found the perfect pant – BUY BUY BUY. The Lululemon Train Times pant is exactly that for me. They have all the right components – the right amount of compression, a pocket for my phone and house key, a cool 7/8ths length, and a drawstring to boot! I feel held in, I’m able to carry the necessities, and most importantly, they don’t fall down.
Jogger Sweatpants
Nothing gives a woman a warm welcome home like a great pair of comfy pants. I literally dream about my joggers while I’m at my office. After a long day of working out, work, and finally fighting traffic to make my way home, there is nothing more I want than my comfy clothes. I’ve found joggers to be just the way I want to spend my evenings whether writing, cooking dinner, or getting cozy on the couch watching Game of Thrones reruns.
There you have it. Nine things in my life I use all the time to help in maintaining my fit and active lifestyle.
